Who sold the most albums so far in 2013?

2013 is off to a great start in K-pop with the return of some of the top acts in the music industry. Even though digital sales have been steadily taking over the physical album sales, this year many idols have enjoyed high album sales.

The ranking isn’t exactly scientific as album releases vary by date, and certain albums have more than one part or include repackage editions. But still, when’s a ranking ever not fun?

‘Dating Agency’ reveals its star-studded cameos

tvN‘s upcoming drama ’Dating Agency‘ has revealed its star-studded cameos in addition to its model eye candy!

‘Dating Agency’ unveiled still cuts of SHINee’s Taemin, Ji Jin Hee, Lee Chung Ah, Choi Won Young,Lee Yoon Ji, and Lim Hyung Jun making cameos in the first five episodes of the drama. As the drama focuses on what goes on in the dating agency business, the special guest stars are expected to either be the ones who need help or the ‘target’ of a secret admirer.

According to PD Kang Hee Jun, the star-studded cameo lineup doesn’t stop there. He commented, “In order to prevent any drama spoilers from happening, we can’t reveal any specific details of the six characters. However, they will star as clients and ‘targets’ who are the focus of an episode. Since there are a lot of people who are curious, we revealed the first round of our lineup of the six stars who finished filming their cameos. We plan to bring in even more special cameos, and we’re anticipating that ‘Dating Agency’ will give a new type of entertainment that only it can show through the enthusiastic acting from the stars of the episodes.”

Now fans have even more to look forward to as they wait for the premiere of ‘Dating Agency’ on May 27!

Girls’ Generation’s Tiffany shows her pride as a ‘Californian Girl’

Girls’ Generation‘s Tiffany recently returned to her hometown in Los Angeles to pitch for the LA Dodgers, and showed her pride as a ‘Californian Girl’ for ‘1st Look‘.

As many of you know, Tiffany grew up in California and many of her family members still live in the greater Los Angeles area. The idol took on the challenge of exemplifying the free and lively atmosphere of California in her floral tops and jeans. Her casual attire and friendly smile make her the perfect girl-next-door.

130514 Girls’ Generation to Release Seventh Japanese Single, ‘LOVE&GIRLS’, on June 19th

The release date of Girls’ Generation’s new Japanese single, “LOVE&GIRLS”, has been postponed from May 29th to June 19th. The music video that is to be included in the limited edition of the new single has also been changed from “Beep Beep” to “LOVE&GIRLS”. The music video will be filled with new experimental things, which is the reason for the delay of the single.

Girls’ Generation’s Japanese fansite has revealed the release of a new single in Japan entitled “LOVE&GIRLS”. The single will come in two versions, a limited edition for 1,890 yen and a regular edition for 1,260 yen. Both versions will contain two tracks, “LOVE&GIRLS” and “Lingua Franca”, while the limited edition will also come with a DVD containing the “Beep Beep” music video.

130514 Girls’ Generation’s Yuri to debut on the big screen with leading role on ‘No Breathing’

Girls’ Generation‘s Yuri will be debuting on the big screen in the role of a swimmer. 

 She’ll be playing the main character in ‘No Breathing‘, a youth sports movie that tells the story of love and rivalry among competitive swimmers. Actress Kang Sora was also considered for the role, but in the end Yuri snagged the spot. She’ll be acting with Lee Jong Suk and Seo In Guk. 

 It’ll be her debut on the big-screen, but Yuri has previous acting experience in the drama ‘Fashion King‘. The movie will begin filming this month and will be released in theaters in late 2013.

[CONCERT/PHOTOS] GIRLS’ GENERATION AT ’2013 DREAM CONCERT’

Earlier, Girls’ Generation attended a red carpet event for the “I Love You Republic of Korea 2013 Dream Concert”, which is currently taking place at the Seoul World Cup Stadium. Dressed in a variety of outfits, the members of Girls’ Generation posed for photos by the press with other performers at the concert. Sooyoung did not appear on the red carpet.

After posing for photos at a red carpet event, the members exchanged their high heels for flats and were joined by Sooyoung, who did not appear on the red carpet, for performances of “The Boys” and “I Got A Boy”.
“Dream Concert” is a large scale annual concert in Korea featuring many performers. Other artists at this year’s concert included B2ST, SHINee, INFINITE, 2AM, U-KISS, ZE:A, KARA, SISTAR, 4minute, T-ara, SECRET, EXO, B1A4, Rainbow, Huh Gak, SPEED, BTOB, EvoL, and VIXX. The “2013 Dream Concert” will be aired on KBS 2TV on May 22nd.
